When DERICHEBOURG Energie EP Offers Energy-Efficient Holiday Lighting
12.21.2023How can cities be illuminated during the holiday season while addressing the challenges of energy savings? The teams at DERICHEBOURG Energie EP have proposed innovative solutions.
Once again this year, DERICHEBOURG Energie EP is working with nearly twenty municipalities in Île-de-France to offer residents festive lights, luminous decorations, and animated projections (video mapping) on the facades of certain buildings! Issues of electricity consumption and sustainability were central to the requests and considerations.
To reduce energy costs, control boxes have been installed on each decoration, allowing the lights to be turned off during the night. LED technology and fiber optics are used to reduce electricity consumption. At some sites, photovoltaic panels have even been installed to power some giant structures.
“Cities reach out to us very early for their festive lighting, often as early as May! This year, due to the particular energy context, we had to find new solutions to enable our clients to maintain the holiday magic while minimizing consumption as much as possible. This mainly involves switching to 100% LED lighting for parks, reprogramming and optimizing lighting hours, and using presence detection,” explains Maxence Peltié, IDF East Branch Manager at DERICHEBOURG Energie EP.
